[rove home] [rove episode guide] [rove transcripts] [rove/pete/corinne/dave pics] ROVE MC MANUS - LIVE ALIVE (INPRESS MAGAZINE) When asked to write your own column about yourself to plug your own Comedy Festival show, obviously it's hard to not heap too much praise upon yourself (no matter how justified it may be) yet at the same time how do you sell tickets by playing the modest "aw, my show ain't that great" card? At the moment I'm actually finding it difficult to embelish too much as well. Sure, I'd like to say that my new show 'Live As!' at the Capitol Theatre (March 30-April 2nd 2000) has a troupe of live monkeys playing the theme to 'Star Wars' on piano accordians....but, that would be lying. Damn, I wish I actually had thought of that now, monkeys are pretty darn funny. What I have come up with for 'Live As!' at the Capital Theatre (March 30-April 2) is nowhere near as amusing as monkeys with accordians. Sigh... Now did you see what I did there? I have now resorted to making you feel sorry for me so you will come and see my show 'Live As!" at the Capitol Theatre (March 30-April 2nd) out of sympathy. I really am pulling out all stops in this baby aren't I? But I guess I should really be telling you what is in 'Live As!' at the Capitol Theatre (March 30-April 2) instead of wasting important publicity space- or should I ? Perhaps this has been my plan all along, to have you think I am so freaking confident that I don't even have to tell you what 'Live As!' at the Capitol Theatre (March 30-April 2) even consists of. Better yet, right about now it is probably getting to the point where I have kept it such a mystery that you are positively busting a gut to know what you will see and the only way to do so is to actually attend 'Live As!' at the Capital Theatre (March 30-April 2) that is, if it hasn't sold-out already. Bang! Now I've even tried the "will sell out" fear factor. True or not, it's got you thinking hasn't it? I suppose there is not too much to tell with regards to 'Live As!' at the Capitol Theatre (March 30-April 2) except that: I will be wearing pants (that's an iron-clad guarantee), there is ABSOLUTELY no juggling and the sequel will be nowhere near as good. So, please come, it will be ever so much fun. God, now I'm sucking up. I was certainly hoping I wouldn't sink that low. So, when asked to plug your own Festival show I guess I now realise it's not as easy as I once thought. Though the most important part is just mention the damn thing and the more observant of you will notice I did that too (seven times in fact) Mission accomplished.
