1. Ratcat’s first record was a self-titled mini-album featuring a version of “I Think We’re Alone Now” - the same song that was Tiffany’s first hit.

2. Simon used to work down the hall from the Smash Hits office (he is a qualified layout artist!)

3. Simon designs all of Ratcat’s record sleeves, T-shirts and posters…in a variety of styles.

4. The new Ratcat single, “Don’t Go Now”, was written by Simon with Robyn St Claire of the Hummingbirds.

5. Simon went to Sydney High School, Eastern Junior High School, Connecticut, USA, Mosman High School, in Sydney and studied Art at Sydney College of the Arts.

6. Ratcat were originally part of the “Mosman crowd” which included thrash groups The Hellmen and Massappeal. No-one would book them, so they relied on their pals to give them support slots at shows!

7. Ratcat signed to Waterfront Records and made a lot of records, including their first LP, “This Nightmare”. Then they left and signed to rooArt to make a lot more records…and money!

8. Simon has a cat obsession - even though he’s not an owner of one at the moment.

9. Simon met the drummer of Ratcat, Andrew Polin by running over him in his car!

10. Ratcat performed at the “prestigious” ARIA’s a couple of months ago. They played a tribute to the Easybeats by singing their 1966 hit, “Sorry”.
