If you haven't been reading 3D over the last couple of weeks you may not realise the Palladium is re opening as The Empire (actually you'd probably be living under a rock if you weren't aware of this). Two nights are planned. Last week Ray and Phil gave us an incite into their lives now it's the turn of Friday night regulars Ben Korbel and GT. Even if you had been living under that rock you must have heard of GT - DMA winner, tonnes of Triple J airplay and a b-boy midget fetish. Know what I'm talking about?

Why did you accept the Empire residency?
Right offer at the right time. I'm going to hang in Sydney while I write my next album and Empire looks like a nice place to hang.

What will set it apart from other clubs in Sydney?
Hopefully a commitment to great music in a great venue.

What will you try to achieve in terms of music with the club?
Playing quality, you will not hear Storm or anything like that.

Have you seen the newly renovated club?
Nice. Didn't recognise the place...toilets were cleaner!

What five tracks are we guaranteed to hear on the night?
I don't own them as yet....currently in London record shopping as I write this!

How will the new Empire compare with the old Palladium?
Different name, different attitude, different DJs, different sounds, and different drinkcards!

Anything special planned for opening night?
Hmmmm...basically armed with a fresh crate of 12"s from the UK I will endeavour to have, and provide a good time.
