Dance Nation sets out to capture the vibe of Australia's predominant club culture. It is reminiscent of summer festivals and big club parties that we all know too well. Pee Wee Ferris takes us through the summer of 2000/2001 with an energising set of hard house and intense progressive trance. He thrusts into his mix with Norman Bass', 'How U Like Bass' banging out those big room beats and bombastic bass onslaughts. Cosmic Gates 'Fire Wire' builds the pace into a hard thrashing house that is consistent throughout the entire first CD. CD2 is mixed by GT. He meanders into some autumn shimmery house, opening with Jakatta's 'American Dream' then dives into the uplifting 'All I Do' by Cleptomaniacs Feet. It then cranks into all that good lovin', hands in the air, kinky-disco groovin' kinda stuff. Track seven changes the pace with 'Chase the Sun', the classic by Planet Funk only this time it is placed right in the middle of the set instead of at the end. GT's drink gets spiked and the music trips out into unknown genres. 'Love You Some More' by Cevin Fisher introduces those orchestral pipelines and progresses into some experimental gutter trance bringing Dance Nation to an end. |
