Cartooning Workshop for Kids Brendan Lovechild is a comic who draws comics. The wit of his hand grew to match his mouth after leaving school at 16 to pursue a career in graphic arts where he quickly became quite a problem, drawing cartoons of his fellow workers that were a little too close to the bone for their liking. Surprise, surprise, Brendan had to go. In 2008 Brendan released his first book, which features over 100 of his cartoons. The book was described as "Brilliant!" by fellow comic, Jimeoin and drew the admiration of one of the country's best comic illustrator's Mr Reg Mombassa who raved: '"Top shelf drawings & absurd humor in the fine tradition of underground comic art." Brendan conducts a two hour workshop for kids teaching them the finer points of how to turn their doodles into cartoons. Funny Kids Mandy Nolan can teach your funny kids how to be stand ups. For the past three years Mandy has taken ordinary kids and encouraged them to turn their everyday challenges and struggles into comedy. This is the ultimate resilience building tool and teaches kids to laugh at themselves and to take note of the ridiculous and non-sensical world we live in. The workshop culminates in a debut performance at the Bangalow A&I Hall during the Big Joke. What other kid has a CV that says they appeared alongside 'Arj Barker and Tim Minchin'??? Workshop One: (impro, technique, familiarisation, on stage persona etc) Saturday 7 March 10am - 3pm. Bangalow RSL Hall.
